DOES IT MATTER IF THE BOE IS CONNECTED TO THE NIC USING A 1 GIGABIT OR 10 GIGABIT PORT?
You must use 1GE RJ45 port to connect BOE and NIC.
IT APPEARS THAT YOU HAVE SFP PORTS ON THE BOE BOARD, CAN WE CONNECT SFP CABLES TO THE SERVER INSTEAD OF ETHERNET CABLES IN ORDER TO GET HIGHER THROUGHPUT?
Currently it’s not supported.
At the public launch of our MainNet, we will provide the underlying API - Remote Procedure Call (RPC) interface. This is accessible in any programming language, because it has a common interface. The RPC protocol serves as a foundation; it allows communication between the SDK and the Uplink service to create accounts and query ledger state, issue assets and interaction with smart contracts. This means that the RPC protocol is used as an integrator between the SDK and the Uplink. Looking at the SDK for other programming languages these need to be compiled separately using a converter (compiler) for example. In essence this API enables developers to create new SDKs based on any programming language. Next to the RPC, we will provide a JAVA-based SDK (web3j). In the future we will continue to develop other SDKs and we hope that the community joins us and starts co-developing!
WHAT KEEPS A MALICIOUS ACTOR FROM SPAMMING THE NETWORK BY CONTINUOUSLY SENDING 1 HPB TRANSACTIONS BACK AND FORTH?
That won’t happen, because each user needs to pay gas fee for each transaction.
WHAT IS THE AMOUNT OF HPB COINS DAPPS NEED TO HOLD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HPB NETWORK?
There is not a specific minimum. The transaction structure and smart contract functionality works similarly as Ethereum. As the utilization of a Dapp increases, It is recommended that D’Apps holds more HPB coins in order to have their network function more smoothly.
DOES HPB HAVE TRANSACTION FEES? (FOR EXAMPLE A SENDS B SOME HPB TOKENS, WHAT ARE THE TRANSACTION FEES?)
Yes, there are gas fees, however the actual parameters (gas limit, smart contract cost, etc.) will be set differently for each transaction.
AS A DAPP GETS MORE ACTIVITY AND USERS, WILL THE HPB COINS THAT THESE DAPPS HOLD TO RUN ON HPB BE CONSUMED (WILL THE COINS BE USED UP AND DECREASE)?
The DApp owner pays an HPB token amount for issuing a smart contract. Based on the implementation and features of the smart contract, the user would only be charged for the transaction/operation that is being executed.
BESIDES TOKEN PRICE APPRECIATION DUE TO INCREASING UTILITY, WILL THERE BE PASSIVE INCOME MECHANISMS TO INCENTIVE SMALL HOLDERS TO KEEP ON HOLDING THE COIN, LIKE STAKING OR AIRDROPS OF DAPP TOKENS?
Yes, there will be passive income mechanisms. This however will be discussed with each dApp individually. Their respective teams also need to agree on potential airdrop campaigns or bounty programs.
DOES THE HPB AMOUNT NEEDED BY DAPPS TO HOLD SUSCEPTIBLE TO CHANGE DEPENDING ON VARIABLES SUCH AS HOW DEMANDING THE DAPP IS ON THE NETWORK?
The strongest influencing factor is the number of smart contracts that are executed on the DApp. The higher the number of smart contracts, then the required HPB amount will also increase.
DOES HPB HAVE ANY PLANS TO SUPPORT CROSS-CHAIN INTEROPERABILITY? (CONNECTING HPB FOR EXAMPLE TO NEO OR ETHEREUM)
Technically we can support cross-chain interoperability. The specific chains that we support in the future depends on our users’ demands and the DApps that we cooperate with.
